“You’re Rick fucking Dalton. Don’t you forget it”
The trailer for the ninth film by Quentin Tarantino, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, is finally here – and it does not disappoint.
Set in 1969, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is based around the infamous Charles Manson killings, but is not a true story – instead, it weaves fictional characters around real-life figures.
Leonardo DiCaprio stars as TV star Rick Dalton, whose stardom is starting to crumble. Along with his stunt double (played by Brad Pitt), it looks Dalton will be dragged into Manson’s dark world.
This being a Quentin Tarantino film though, we are promised a big ensemble cast and multiple storylines that weave in and out of each other.
Backing up Pitt and DiCaprio are Margot Robbie, playing Sharon Tate, who was infamously murdered by Manson and his disciples, as well as Al Pacino, Kurt Russell, Dakota Fanning and Timothy Oliphant.
Other real-life figures set to appear include Bruce Lee, Steve McQueen, and Roman Polanski.
The official synopsis reads:
Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood visits 1969 Los Angeles, where everything is changing, as TV star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) make their way around an industry they hardly recognise anymore. The ninth film from the writer-director features a large ensemble cast and multiple storylines in a tribute to the final moments of Hollywood’s golden age.
The film is set to make its debut at the Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday, and will be in UK cinemas August 14th.
