Jeremy Clarkson gets a bad rap because he slagged off Liverpool, and lorry drivers, and Gordon Brown, and Mexico, and Argentina, and the entire country, and because he punched a Top Gear producer in the face – but these days the loudmouthed TV star is spending his days rescuing tourists from certain doom.
Clarkson is currently on holiday as he prepares for the launch of new Amazon show, The Grand Tour, and while sailing his yacht in Majorca he reportedly spotted a group of young men who were trapped on lilos after strong winds swept them a mile out to sea.
The 56-year-old presenter raced to their aid and towed them to safety. He later told The Sun: “I helped four of them. I rescued two French and two Germans. They burst out laughing when they saw who was rescuing them.”

He added that, without his assistance, it was very likely that the oblivious holidaymakers would have been totally stranded.
“I loved seeing the look on their faces. They didn’t realise they were going to float off to North Africa. We were on a bigger boat but there was a rib at the back so we used that to tow them back in.
“They were all in their twenties and a mile out to sea. You’ll never paddle back in from there.”
He later took to Twitter to recount his heroics and as someone who vocally backed Britain to remain in the EU, couldn’t resist getting in a Brexit reference and a dig at the new foreign secretary Boris Johnson.
