The show’s bosses are investigating the security breach.
Security guards at the Love Island villa had to drag a YouTube prankster out of the villa after he made it onto the set of the show whilst the contestants slept.
The Sun reports that bouncers spotted the man in the garden of the TV set and were forced to pounce on him and drag him out of the building.
Omer Majid is a YouTuber, and filmed himself making it into the villa. He broadcast the whole thing live, showing himself in a corridor before being seen underneath a pair of recognisable, bright, fluorescent lights.
A voice is then heard shouting “you’re trespassing” before he is dragged out of the villa.
Majid has 11,000 followers on YouTube, and posted a series of Instagram stories that seemed to show him on the island of Majorca, where the Love Island villa is based.
Dozens of people have attempted to break into the villa in the past, but the complex is guarded by a team of security guards who apparently turn away would-be trespassers at least five times a day. Majid is thought to be the first person to have successfully made it onto the set though.
A spokesman said: “Last night a security breach was identified and an intruder was removed from the villa with immediate effect.
“The safety of both our Islanders and our production crew remains our primary concern.
“As part of our stringent Covid safety measures, the villa area that was trespassed has been fully deep-cleaned before being made accessible again to the Islanders and crew.”
