Welcome to The Umbrella Academy.
Based on a brilliant comic book by Gerard Way (the lead singer of legendary emo band My Chemical Romance), Netflix is set to launch its new series, The Umbrella Academy, in February 2019.
Among the star studded cast, which also features Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, Mary J. Blige and Colm Feore, is Irish actor Robert Sheehan, famous for his roles in Love/Hate and Misfits.
Judging by the trailer, it looks like Sheehan is going to be playing quite a wildcard, a freaky superhero whose goes by The Séance. A brief snippet in the trailer seems to show him smashing a crystal ball on his head. His character’s real name is Klaus Hargreaves, and he’s part of a dysfunctional family of superheroes/lab experiments.
It seems like a freaky steampunk kind of situation, and we’d expect nothing less from the mind of the man behind The Black Parade album. The music in the trailer also gives the show a real Guardians of the Galaxy feel. Frankly, we can’t wait. And we don’t have to wait much longer — the show is set to drop on 15 February next year.
