People can’t believe how expensive the food is at Salt Bae’s restaurant

Charlie Herbert

The term ‘more money than sense’ comes to mind

$10 Sprite, $15 french fries, $1k steaks. Salt Bae’s estimated net worth is $60 million, and with these prices I’m not shocked.

Do you remember Salt Bae, the Turkish chef/butcher who sprinkled salt flamboyantly? A memory of a simpler time, when trollies weren’t sanitised, quizzes were only something you did on a Thursday night down the pub, and corona was just a Mexican beer. Well he is still managing to dine out on his viral fame, recently opening a new steakhouse in Dallas.

It’s probably what you’d expect from everyone’s favourite sunglasses-wearing chef, involving plenty of salt and him feeding customers himself, although not everyone has accepted the offer of being mouth-fed as a grown adult.

But what has really caught people’s attention is the ludicrous prices at the Nusr-Et Steakhouse, as one Twitter user posted a picture of a bill from Nusr-Et Steakhouse Miami which came to the sum total of over $6200.

That includes two dishes described on the bill as “spaghetti” but which somehow come to $160 for the two, as well as a Golden Tomahawk steak coming in at a cool grand.

It’s the sort of restaurant bill that you would only pay for so you have something interesting to post on social media. And even then, it’s probably not worth it. But each to their own I guess.
