EastEnders viewers got emotional last night as the soap said goodbye to the terminally ill Peggy Mitchell, who chose to end her own life.
Audiences saw the cancer-stricken Queen Vic landlady (played by Barbara Windsor) say goodbye to her sons Phil and Grant and other Albert Square pals before she decided to take her own life rather than suffer through her last days.
An old friend even made an appearance from beyond the grave, with the spirit of Pat Butcher appearing.
Soap fans reacted tearily to the episode, making it the top trending topic of Twitter, proving just how well-loved Peggy Mitchell really was.
