Texts between a man pretending to be a DJ and a club promoter goes ridiculously too far…(pics)

We’ve all received text messages where you don’t know who has sent them.

The standard response would be to reply asking ‘who is this?’

Another favourite is to play along until it becomes clear who the person is – others take things to extreme, as in this case of mistaken identity.

Danny James Elliott was recently asked by a nightclub promoter in Leeds to be the resident DJ on the club’s biggest night of the week. He’s not a DJ.

Rather than reply to the promoter – who thought he was contacting a talented DJ who had previously worked in the club – to tell him he had the wrong number, Danny decided to have a bit of fun.

Danny continued the conversation with a series of texts which get more ridiculous every time.

It went as far as him requesting smoke machines, hot tubs and the assumption of taking acid…

He also took the time to draw up a ridiculously cheesy playlist, at which point, very belatedly, the nightclub promoter realised he had been texting the wrong person all along.

You can read the conversation in full by clicking on the first picture below.

So apparently I’ve got the same name as a DJ in Leeds and in a case of mistaken identity, I got asked to be the resident…
