Anti-porn group slams ‘hardcore porn’ WAP performance at Grammy Awards

The performance ratings were through the roof

An anti-porn group has accused the Grammy Awards of “contributing to the sexual exploitation of women” for the sake of TV ratings.

The National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) were shocked by the Grammy’s decision to air Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s supposedly “explicit” pole-dancing performance for their hit single ‘WAP’.

“In a performance that could have been cut from a hardcore pornography film, CBS allowed a glamorisation of stripping and prostitution to be broadcast in front of a national audience – a portion of which were children – for no other reason than for TV ratings,” said Dawn Hawkins, the Senior Vice President and Executive Director of NCOSE.

In a statement, the NCOSE said: “Despite the ‘popularity’ of the song performed by Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, CBS should have never allowed this kind of explicit performance to happen at the Grammys.”

“Prostitution and stripping are never empowering for women”, the statement read, “as they set up systems that exploit and oppress women.”

“CBS has contributed to furthering the sexual exploitation of women and contributed to the ‘normalization’ of porn culture.”

On Twitter, the group said: “The 2021 Grammy Awards propagated regressive themes that are detrimental to progress in fighting sexual abuse, exploitation, and oppression.”

However, Cardi B appeared confident in her daring outfit, taking to Instagram to show her fans her finished look.

On a recent Instagram post, she said: “Make sure ya check out my performance on YouTube. Eighteen pounds on my body. I had to wear it tho it was amazing.”

Despite the widespread criticism she has received for her performance at the Grammys, Cardi B is ecstatic at her ratings from the show.

On Twitter, she said: “Love it or hate it, criticize it, judge it, JUST BRING THE VIEWS IN. NUMBER 1 trending.”
