You’ve got to admire the brilliant cheek of it.
There have been many positive reviews for the much-anticipated Legend, starring Tom Hardy as both Ronnie and Reggie Kray.
However, in the midst of a plethora of 4 and 5-star ratings, one reviewer was less impressed. Benjamin Lee of the Guardian wasn’t a fan, opining that “there’s not enough within Legend to elevate it from other British crime films, despite the wealth of real-life drama to play with.”
Fair enough. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and even the cinematic classics received some less favourable comments.
But what’s brilliant – and pleasingly mischievous – is how the promoters of Legend used Lee’s 2-star rating. Rather than leave it off a poster displaying all the positive plaudits, they included it as follows:

Squeezed between the heads of Ronnie and Reggie, the two stars look like another generous rating, with the viewer assuming the Krays’ noggins are obscuring a solid 4-star review.
It’s not dishonest, just very very clever. Whoever came up with this idea is a legend in our book.
