It turns out we’re not the only ones who regret spending our days binge-watching TV shows.
Steven Gerrard is currently lining up a post-playing career as a coach, revealing that Liverpool are keen to find a place for him when his contract with LA Galaxy expires.
The midfielder wishes that he had started his coaching badges sooner, though, instead of watching so much TV.“I have regrets I didn’t start my coaching badges at 21-22” Gerrard told The Telegraph.
“All that time wasted in hotels as an England player when I’ve been bored and was watching The Office and The Sopranos. I wish I’d done my CBA (coaching) licence then so I’d be doing my pro-licence now.”
Gerrard also bemoaned more players not venturing into coaching.
“I know many players get to the end of their careers, get handed a thick C licence pack and say, ‘Nah, I’m not doing that.'” said the former England captain.
“That’s 70/80 caps and 600 career appearances and he is just going ‘nah’. He could have had it done.”
