One that manages to switch up the original premise of being a Point Break knock-off that focused on thieves who preferred cars to surfing, and stealing combo TV/VCRs over robbing banks?
Seriously, name a collection of films that not only recognises precisely how stupid and over the top it is, but actually makes that a key focus of what passes for a plot.
I bet you can’t, and if you can, I doubt The Rock and Jason Statham are involved.
Speaking of, those two are set to team up for the first official spin-off movie of the series – with the plan still being to finish the main storyline(s) at 10 films total – so there’s really no sign of this thing slowing down any time soon.
As such, we meet the news that an animated Fast & Furious show is in development for Netflix with a tough-guy nod and a raised bottle of adequate Mexican beer.
Variety reports that the new series will be overseen by DreamWorks Animation Television and will tell the tale of teenager Tony Toretto as he follows in the footsteps of cousin Dom when he and his buddies are recruited by a government agency to infiltrate an elite racing league.
The elite racing league, you see, is actually a front for a dodgy crime organisation with world domination in its sights.
We mentioned that this franchise is utterly bonkers, right?
