The Void is a new “dark, demented, and disgusting horror” with an 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes

Prepare to be terrified because it's in cinemas soon

It’s in cinemas soon. Prepare to be terrified.

A few days ago, we told you about some of the best films that are being released in your cinema this March and it appears that horror fans are in for a real treat over the coming weeks.

You should definitely check out the critically acclaimed duo of Raw and Get Out, but if you’re still looking for even more terrifying treats, we have just the thing for you.

The Void currently has an 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and it has impressed every single critic that has already seen it. The renowned horror website Bloody Disgusting have said that it’s “a dark, demented, and disgusting horror film that’s going to live among the greatest body horror films of all time.”

In fact, one of the leading film journalists in the horror genre, Kim Newman, has praised the fact that it has a “reliance on memorably gruesome physical effects rather than CGI” while stating that it’s atmosphere is akin to classics like The Thing, Re-Animator and Society.

Right, lets get our hands bloody and find out what’s it about.

When police officer Carter discovers a blood-soaked man limping down a deserted road, he rushes him to a local hospital with a bare bones, night shift staff. As cloaked, cult-like figures surround the building, the patients and staff inside start to turn ravenously insane. Trying to protect the survivors, Carter leads them into the depths of the hospital where they discover a gateway to immense evil.

Jeremy Gillespie and Steven Kostanski’s film has even been discussed in the same breath as the body horror masterpieces that John Carpenter and David Cronenberg have directed.

High praise indeed.

You’ll have a chances to see it (presumably while cowering behind your hands) when it’s released on March 31st.

Take a look.
