There’s a Stephen King marathon on TV very soon

Paul Moore

Horror fans will be happy.

When it comes to literary adaptations, Stephen King has reigned supreme in 2017.

To begin with, IT became the largest ever opening for a horror movie and the largest September opening of all time, the film more than doubled the earnings of the previous record holders. The Dark Tower, well, we’re hoping the TV show will be better.

The Dark Tower was also released and, well, we’re hoping that TV show will be better.

We can’t wait to see Gerald’s Game and 1922 when they’re released on Netflix, but Mr. Mercedes is arguably the finest adaptation of a King book to date.

Now that he has turned 70, the prolific writer is showing no signs of slowing down and to commemorate this milestone the Horror Channel will be celebrating his work with a season of Stephen King films.

Here are the King movies that will be screened:

Cat’s Eye – A stray cat is the linking element of three tales of suspense and horror.

Stephen King’s Thinner – An obese attorney is cursed by a gypsy to rapidly and uncontrollably lose weight.

Children of the Corn – A young couple is trapped in a remote town where a dangerous religious cult of children believe everyone over the age of 18 must be killed.

Maximum Overdrive – King’s directorial debut revolves around a group of people that are trying to survive when machines start to come alive and become homicidal.

The Stephen King season starts on October 7th on Horror Channel.
