Trump loses in Iowa and gets slapped down by Adele

Tony Cuddihy

Donald Trump isn’t having a good week. Are the tables finally turning?

Firstly, Adele has told both Trump and Mike Huckabee they do not have permission to use any of her music for their Presidential campaigns.

Trump recently played ‘Rolling In The Deep’ at rallies in Iowa, while Mike Huckabee last week released a YouTube parody of her recent hit single ‘Hello.’

“Adele has not given permission for her music to be used for any political campaigning,” the singer’s spokesman said in an email. The spokesman did not say whether or not she planned any legal action against the pair.

Disbanded rock legends REM also recently hit out at Trump for using ‘It’s The End Of The World As We Know It’ at a campaign event.

Trump, meanwhile, is currently licking his wounds after seeing Ted Cruz beat him in the Iowa caucus – the first significant step on the road to securing the Republican nomination – on Monday night.

With 98% of votes in, Cruz held a 27.7% to 24.3% lead over Trump, with Marco Rubio at 23.1%.

“Iowa has sent notice that the Republican nominee and the next president of the United States will not be chosen by the media, will not be chosen by the Washington establishment, will not be chosen by the lobbyists, but will be chosen by the most incredible powerful force where all sovereignty resides in our nation: by we the people, the American people,” Cruz said afterwards.
