In April we reported that the Showtime reboot of Twin Peaks was in jeopardy after David Lynch announced he was leaving the production. Well now he’s back on board…
The month-long impasse was reportedly due to financial disagreements, but the cult television show is well and truly back on track after differences were patched up.
Lynch took to Twitter to announce his return to the production, just as he had done to originally announce that he was leaving:
Dear Twitter Friends, the rumors are not what they seem ….. It is !!!
Happening again. #TwinPeaks returns on @SHO_Network— David Lynch (@DAVID_LYNCH) May 16, 2015
The good news was echoed by actor Kyle MacLachlan, who played FBI Agent Dale Cooper in the surreal show:
Welcome back again!! #TwinPeaks Special Agent Dale Cooper! on #Showtime #damnfinecoffee

There’s no confirmation yet as to whether MacLachlan will reprise his role in the reboot, but we expect a few more bizarre comings-and-goings before the show is actually in the can…
