“Baby on board, something, something Burt Ward. This thing writes itself.”
Call it a gross exaggeration if you must, but men wouldn’t be the best when it comes to buying gifts for any occasion, let alone to mark the arrival of a new baby for a friend or relative.
JOE reader John Maher has managed to buck that trend, and in some style too.
When his co-worker and friend David and his partner Shauna had a baby recently, John didn’t want to give them any old gift to mark the occasion, but instead prepared a very special tribute.
Even the most casual of Simpsons fans will recognise ‘Baby On Board’, the ditty from the excellent Homer’s Barbershop Quartet episode and, using a toy spud to represent the new arrival, John paid tribute to the newest member of the family with a note-perfect cover version and new music video.

A call from super-agent Nigel is surely just around the corner after a performance like this.
One more listen to the original? Oh go on then…
