Pirates of the Caribbean actor Johnny Depp took time off from shooting his latest film in Australia to visit sick children in hospital.
Depp is currently shooting the latest movie in the swashbuckling pirate franchise, this one’s called Dead Men Tell No Tales (yes, there’s another one of them coming out).
Kitted out as the eccentric Jack Sparrow, he spent time talking with the children and taking photos at the hospital.

Depp spent good deal of time talking to seven-year-old Max Bennett, who suffers from transverse myelitis and was in a medically induced coma just a few weeks ago.
“It was really beautiful. Everyone kept on trying to move [Depp] on, but he kept on coming back,” Rachel Bennett, Max’s mother, told ABC Australia.
“He came on the condition that he wasn’t pushed along and crowded by adults and he could spend as much time as he wanted with the kids.”
It isn’t the first time that Depp has got in character to greet his adoring fans –Â schoolchildren in South-East London were paid a visit by Captain Jack a few years ago, and absolutely revelled in it.
