The first teaser trailer for new Netflix series Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events left us all guessing.
The latest show from the online streaming service is a 13-part adaptation of the series of cult children’s novels.
It will be released in 2016, more than a decade after the cinema version starring Jim Carrey.
Clocking in at just over 30 seconds, the teaser gives very little away, with the only human presence being a hand creeping across the screen.
There are signs that the Netflix adaptation will stay true to the nightmarish gothic setting of the original books, with creepy-crawlies featuring prominently. But beyond that we’ll have to piece it together on our own.
Update:Â Netflix has denied ownership of the teaser trailer, although the series is very much real. We’re still looking forward to it either way.
