Imposter!
First things first, since when did Corrie have stunts comparable to a John Woo action flick? We’ve seen it all on the famous cobbles over the years, from explosions to tram crashes to dramatic death scenes, but we certainly weren’t prepared for Roy Cropper to jump over a hedge like Jackie Chan in his pomp.
In an attempt to avoid getting run over, Cropper (played by 68-year-old David Neilson) was seen back-flipping over a hedge to evade the onrushing car. It was both comical and spectacular – and very much out of character.

But eagle-eyed viewers – or even viewers with standard non-eagle eyes – noticed that a stunt double was clearly visible standing in (and falling over) for Roy. It’s understandable, of course, that you’d use an expert to undertake a fall rather than an elderly actor, but at least make an effort.
The ginger stuntman was given an ample few seconds and wasn’t even wearing a wig for one shot…
