She’s quickly become one of the most successful comedians in the world, but this doesn’t bode well.
Amy Schumer has denied she is a ‘joke thief’, after various comics and fans alike had accused the award-winning stand up and actress of stealing other comics’ patter.
It has been claimed that Schumer has recycled material from fellow comedians including Wendy Liebman, Kathleen Madigan, and Tammy Pescatelli, who were part of an accusational exchange on Monday.
Now a video has been created to drive the point home. It features the stand ups named, along with her late friend and collaborator, Patrice O’Neal. The ‘original’ jokes are followed by Schumer’s ‘interpretations’.
For her part, the star of the eponymously titled Inside Amy Schumer is adamant that her material is original and legit. She even took to Twitter to make her point.

She was backed up by her celebrity pal Aziz Ansari…
Anyone accusing @amyschumer of stealing jokes is a ding dong. She's one of the hardest working ppl I've ever met. Doesn't steal jokes.
