Our toes won’t uncurl.
We’ve said this before, but Susanna Reid deserves some sort of medal for enduring Piers Morgan’s company each and every morning of the working week. But on Monday morning she went above and beyond to stop herself burying her face in the GMB sofa out of sheer embarrassment for her co-host.
Entertainment reporter Richard Arnold was lamenting Charlotte Hawkins’ untimely departure from Strictly Come Dancing over the weekend, and made particular reference to judge Shirley Ballas getting the presenter’s name wrong. Ballas called Hawkins ‘Molly’ for some strange reason during the live show.
Arnold turned the tables on Ballas by referring to her as ‘Burly Shallas’ whilst presenting the moniker mishap clip. Sure, it was hardly Wildean in its wit but it was begging to be done.
Sadly for everyone involved and watching at home, Piers tried his own version of exactly the same gag, i.e. getting Shirley Ballas’ name wrong. Unlike Arnold’s throwaway remark, Morgan laboured his effort to zero reaction, and then went on to repeat it again. The agony of everyone wishing it would end is palpable…

The patience of his co-host, for fuck's sake.
