“The s**t sandwich you have been eatingĀ is so bad that you eventually started to like it.”
So, while you might be preparing for a night celebrating the best of film over the last year, spare a thought for Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. He’s not likely to pick up an Oscar tonight, but he was awarded a Razzie earlier this week for his movie Baywatch.
The ‘Golden Raspberry Awards’ is an annualĀ ceremony that honours the worst the film industry has to offer. More than 38,000 movie lovers voted in its ‘So Rotten You Loved It’ category,Ā with Baywatch emerging the ‘winner’ with 44.2% of the vote.
Following the announcement, the former wrestler posted a video on Oscars night responding to his Razzie. Watch exactly what he had to say here:
Itās the #Oscars and Hollywoodās biggest night!
So let me go ahead and take this āLā right on the chin for Baywatch.

He said: “I was just informed that I too am bringing hope the gold tonight. No, not an Oscar, maybe one day, but a Razzie.
“The Razzies are the annual award ceremony for the worst movies and I have officially won one for Baywatch.
“I kid you not, they had to create a category – for the movie so rotten that you eventually fell in love with it.
“Which means the shit sandwich you have been eatingĀ is so bad that you eventually started to like it.
“Look, I made Baywatch with the best of intentions, it didn’t work out like that. But I humbly and graciously accept my Razzie. Thank you fans.”
At least the People’s Champion is taking it graciously.
