A decision, not every man will understand

A husband chose to take a solo trip to Italy for his birthday, ditching an orgy his wife was planning as a gift because it was “too meticulously planned”.
The revelation came up on ‘Couple’s Therapy’, a Showtime series that is currently airing on BBC Two, that shows struggling married couples meeting with US therapist Dr Orna Guralnik.
In the third episode of the show, Philadelphia-based Annie and Mau were discussing their 23-year marriage and how Mau was disappointed with plans his wife had made for his birthday years ago.
Viewers probably expected he didn’t like the restaurant she booked or the sweater she’d chosen him, but, no, she had planned something far more elaborate. Problem was, she’d planned it too well for her husband’s tastes.
Annie had organised a weekend of “sexual events”.
The weekend was to feature threesomes, a dominatrix, and even costumes – but Mau preferred to flee to Italy for some alone time instead.
“I have been unsuccessful for 20 years and two years ago I pulled out all the stops,” Annie said during the episode.
“He said to me that I was barking up the wrong tree and I wasn’t listening and wasn’t getting it.”
While she tried to convince Mau to “wait for the weekend,” he demanded the party be canceled, searched for his passport, then jetted abroad.
Mau wanted “zero responsibility” and “spectacular, enthusiastic and genuine” sex without putting in work, viewers learn.
The orgy, he added in his confession, was ruined by all his wife’s planning.
“With the birthday, for example, she was putting in all this effort,” he said.
“The things she was doing are the things she could imagine I would want if she was never paying attention.”
The episode divided viewers.

“Mau’s disappointed, not devastated, because his wife didn’t arrange his birthday orgy exactly the way he imagined it. Respect to therapist. How do you keep a straight face?” tweeted one adamant watcher.
One therapist added on Twitter that she chad worked with clients like Mau and they “were all exhausting.”
Viewers were shocked at Mau’s high expectations and the fact he claimed to be “easy” to please.
“I don’t have complicated needs,” Mau said on the show.
“I am utterly transparent and completely communicative about what I want and am also totally consistent. I am the easiest person to deal with.”
