Each Boita Bag prevents 22 balloons worth of CO2 from entering the atmosphere
In these ever-more environmentally precarious times, it is increasingly difficult to match being stylish with preserving our planet. That was until the Boita Bag came along.
Hoping for the princely sum of £30,000 to take their new, eco-friendly work bag to the world, Boita have already surpassed their Kickstarter target with aplomb thanks to a very unique offering.
With a black backpack that appears to be made out of leather, Boita have actually managed to construct the outer bag from ‘vegan’ leather. The inside and mid-section is made from RPET using recycled plastic bottles, 15 per bag to be exact, and the padding is made using algae foam.
This method saves 22 balloons worth of CO2 from entering the atmosphere compared to a normal design and returns 234 bottles of clean, unfiltered water to the environment.
Such a unique approach also takes care of concerns over the durability of the bag, which has gone through a military-style stress test to ensure users can take it off and pick it up over 40,000 times.
