What an absolute legend this little guy is.
Heroic youngster Bailey Matthews completed his first ever triathlon at the weekend – and what makes it even more incredible is that the lion-hearted eight-year-old boy has cerebral palsy.
But not even this could stop the young lad taking on a 100m lake swim, 4,000m bike and 1,300m run at the Castle Howard event.
“You can see his little face when he came round and saw everyone, that was his way of finishing in style and showing everyone what he could do,” Bailey’s mum Julie Hardcastle told the Yorkshire Post. “It was the response from the crowd that pushed him to do that.
“Bailey has always been very determined. If he wants to do something he will find a way to do it, even if it is not the conventional way.”
The inspirational Doncaster lad even ran the final few yards without the help of his walking aid as the crowd cheered him home.
