They are apparently the first UK supermarket to start doing so
You are a sophisticated person. You don’t want just any regular fries. Oh no. You won’t even stand for sweet potato fries. You the best. The very best. You want halloumi fried.
Yes, you want delicious crispy fries made out of Cypriot cheese. Lots of pubs and restaurants do them – Nando’s do them. But if you want them at home, well that is a bit more difficult. They’re not particularly common on supermarket shelves. Until now that is. Aldi – the German purveyors of delightful bargains – are now selling frozen halloumi fries. Rejoice.
The Golden & Crispy Specially Selected Halloumi Fries will be in the frozen section, and retail for £1.99. Unbelievably, they are the first supermarket to sell them.
Julie Ashfield, Joint Managing Director of Corporate Buying at Aldi UK, said
“Halloumi is very popular right now and we are delighted to be the first supermarket to bring our customers halloumi fries, a snack we think will be a big hit this summer and which isn’t currently available from any other supermarkets.”
They go on sale next week. What a time to be alive.
