Angel Delight makes major comeback and you’re going to want to taste it

Sales of the dessert are up 30% in the last six months.

Angel Delight is resurgent. The childhood pudding, traditionally sold as a dry sachet to be whipped into a delicious mousse, was relaunched in a single serving pot last year, and it’s had a massive impact on sales.

The new pots cost 50 to 60p and come in strawberry, butterscotch, chocolate and banana versions.

Other variants, like four-serving packets and 12-serving tubs are also available in mint chocolate flavour, as well as two no-added sugar versions of strawberry and butterscotch.

Boss Gavin Darby told the Sun yesterday: “Angel Delight sales have risen 30 per cent in the past six months because it now comes ready-to-use in pots.”

Safe to say it’s making a huge comeback across the country.

Discontinued flavours include black cherry, blueberry, peach, lime, lemon, blackcurrant, bubblegum, tangerine, vanilla ice cream, Forest Fruits, popcorn, candy floss, butter mint, and raspberry.

Premier Foods, the manufacturer of the dessert, said: ““Angel Delight, one of the group’s smaller and historically less heavily invested brands, grew by 30% in the period, benefiting from the launch of convenient ready-to-eat pots.”

And people are gassed.

Now that is gourmet dining.
