Greggs are known for their baked goods, but sadly those delicious, flaky pastry products are not exactly healthy.
While there are few things better in life than biting into a hot (but not too hot) sausage roll, one of those things is not having a massive fuck-off heart attack from eating too much calorific food.
To prove that Greggs doesn’t have to be greasy to be good, they’ve launched the Minimise Me campaign, including a diet plan that should help customers lose weight while still enjoying their tasty treats.
The meal plan, an example of which is outlined below, is made up entirely from Greggs products – that’s breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack.
As you can see, there’s a lot of porridge and salads, but there’s spaces for sausage rolls and pizza on the weekend.
To set up the diet plan, Greggs teamed up with a dietician, who used the Greggs menu to create a challenge, tested out on four dieters looking to lose weight.
“To highlight our Balanced Choice menu we set four dieters a challenge, eat nothing but Greggs for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner for 30 days and see what happens.
“We teamed up with an independent Dietician, Laura Clark who created a 30-day diet made up entirely of our menu. Laura spent time with each of the participants and created personal plans that encouraged informed and healthy food choices, alongside a more active lifestyle (plus a sausage roll or two for balance).
“Our participants came from all walks of life – Bride-to-be Michelle wanted to feel good for her wedding day in August, Busy teacher Priscilla was looking to drop a dress size, Traveling Consultant Jon wanted to ditch the fast food and New Mum Hannah was looking for a healthy boost.
“Let loose with a Greggs gift card and a month’s plan the participants went off to put the Minimise Me challenge to the test and 30 days later the results are clear – collectively losing over two stone and 14 inches, plus added benefits from a Balanced diet of sleeping better and feeling more energetic.”
