McDonald’s announces menu changes as seasonal favourites return

Maccies gets a shakeup

The McDonald’s menu is being reworked this week, with numerous items being axed and the return of the double Big Mac and nacho cheese wedges.

For those of you able to stomach the gargantuan burger, the double Big Mac is set to return on October 6. With four beef patties, three buns, and the usual amount of salad and gherkins, this burger is a fan favourite amongst hardcore Maccies fans.

The burger is priced at £4.19 on its own, or £5.69 for a medium meal that comes with both a drink and fries.

Should you want to cop yourself this monstrous burger, then be sure to act quickly as it will only be available for six weeks.

But the double Big Mac isn’t the only returning item, with nacho cheese wedges also returning for £1.89.

On the sweeter side of things, the Crunchie McFlurry for 99p will be just the thing for dessert. Both the cheese bites and the McFlurry will also be on a six-week release schedule.

It’s a sad day for those of you who enjoy the Big Tasty, Chicken BBQ Smokehouse and Mozzarella Dippers, as these items are all being axed on Wednesday. It is believed these items will not return until next year.

It’s an even better time for American Maccies fans as the McRib is set to make its return ahead of its thirty-year anniversary, reports CNN.

“Whether you’re a McRib loyalist or first-timer, there is no denying that the McRib is one of the most iconic sandwiches of the last four decades, and we have thousands of emails and tweets from fans to prove it,” McDonald’s said in a press release.

The McRib seems like a distant memory for us Brit’s, with its last appearance being over a decade ago. Though rumours spiral each year about its potential return, nothing solid has surfaced as of yet.
