People were lovin’ it
McDonald’s pickles have long been the subject of ridicule but the fast food restaurant discovered that they’re not quite as unpopular as everybody thought on Monday morning.
The Australian Instagram of the chain decided to take on April Fool’s Day by announcing a new addition to their menu: the McPickle Burger.
“Pickle lovers, it’s the news you’ve all been waiting for,” began the statement.

They added: “We’re super stoked to announce the launch of our brand new McPickle Burger.
“It’s time to tuck into juicy, flavoursome pickles layered between melted cheese, ketchup sauce and toasted sesame seed buns. It’s sure to be a treat for all your senses.”
Fans responded surprisingly positively to the news, with many tagging their friends in and posting comments praying for it not to be an April Fool’s prank.
However, it clearly was and the official account even remarked that the burger was: “Available until yesterday.”
And I desperately want the Pickle Burger promised by McDonalds!

Maccas joked about launching a pickle burger for April fools but I honestly wish it wasn’t a joke 💔

The sandwich would have definitely fallen foul of an April Fool’s joke made by British Transport Police, who claimed that fines of £2,000 will be dished out to people eating “stinky” sandwiches on trains. Meanwhile, Yorkshire Tea announced that they would be producing a spreadable version of their drink and Sainsbury’s got in on the fun by releasing “pink” avocados.
