Have you been hit by the dreaded ‘Error 53’?
The Error 53 glitch had been affecting Apple phones whose Touch ID sensors had been replaced (as the result of fixing a cracked screen), causing the phone to malfunction and shut down in order to keep a suspected robber from using it.
Unfortunately, the error completely ‘bricked’ the phone, rendering it not only unusable but pretty much irreparable to anyone in any Apple Store.
Today, Apple released a fix for the error. iPhone and iPad users can download a patched, updated version of iOS 9 that will prevent any more error 53 scenarios from happened.
Apple also apologised for the security measure, which is now the subject of a class action lawsuit in America where it is being argued that a company has no right to brick a phone after it has been bought and paid for.
