Guests at a hotel in Belfast are being offered an alternative to the usual wine list, with a carefully-selected water menu.
Unfortunately, the prices are far from refreshing.
Bottles of ice-cold water will set guests back as much as £26.45, but at least for that price you get a proper fine dining experience with your own water butler.
We want to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume it’s a satire on global warming melting the icecaps, leaving the British Isles overwhelmed by wave after wave of water from the Arctic.
Let’s be honest, though, it’s more likely that they’re just charging people a lot of money for water. No ifs and buts about it.
Staff at the Merchant Hotel insist that “Belfast water” will still be available free of charge for those reluctant to spend more on imported bottles from the world’s glaciers.
