The White House has teamed up with College Humour to question attitudes towards sexual assault.
As part of the It’s On Us campaign, it asks why it is accepted that one in five female students will be sexually assaulted during their time at uni when people wouldn’t sit back and let bears eat one in five people.
While that figure is for American students, Rape Crisis UK estimates says that one in five British women between the ages of 16 and 59 has experienced some form of sexual violence since turning 16.
It’s a powerful mesage which highlights men’s responsibility in actually addressing the issue of sexual assault and making spaces such as university safer for women everywhere.
