This is particularly relevant over the Bank Holiday weekend.
It’s easy to find yourself in a situation where the prospect of going out for a few drinks brings on something of a crisis.
On the one hand, the desire to save money and to be productive without being hungover the following day has you leaning towards staying at home, while the dreaded fear of missing out (FOMO) is pulling you towards the pub like a magnet.
Many of you might be finding yourself being confronted by that very crisis this weekend, and if you are, a clever student might just have the solution.
Patrick Twomey, a student at University of Limerick, in Ireland, has come up with a SAF (suitability, acceptability, feasibility) strategic analysis of the burning question: “Should I go for a few pints?”
This particular analysis is applied in the case of a college student, and it weighs up a number of factors such as finance, reaction of stakeholders, possibility of pulling, and potential return on investment (how many pints will equal how much fun?) before reaching a definitive conclusion.
The level of effort invested in this is impressive…
Ultimate procrastination it might be, but it might just prove a particularly useful tool during one of the biggest social weekends of the year.
Enjoy the rest of your Bank Holiday weekend, and drink responsibly, folks.
