In order to be cleared to travel, dogs would have to be demonstrably healthy, microchipped and have a pet passport.
Ryanair are rethinking their no-pets-allowed policy, says the company’s chief commercial officer, David O’Brien.
While no new policy has been introduced, the airline is considering making exceptions to allow small dogs in the cabin for short flights around Europe.
O’Brien acknowledged that ‘what makes one person happy might make another person unhappy’, meaning that there are probably plenty of people out there who would think of being seated near a barking dog as badly as they would of sitting near a crying baby.
Not to mention, the recent history of animals on planes is less than reassuring.
