‘Our intimacy benefits from my disability’
The wife of a disabled man has slammed the trolls who believe she can’t be satisfied by him.
Hannah and Shane Burcaw first met after she watched her husband-to-be on a documentary and decided to reach out. The two have been smitten ever since.
Appearing on DIPSEA’S StyleLikeU series on an episode entitled ‘Laughing At Your Ableist BS’, Shane and Hannah opened up about their sex life.
She said: “Often people will assume that I’m Shane’s sister or mum.
“We definitely get a lot of comments from straight men thinking that it’s not fair that I’m with Shane and that I should be with them.
“People say that I couldn’t possibly be satisfied, we get that every day.”
Shane, who lives with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, added: “They perceive that I can’t have sex in their very limited, missionary man f***s woman. They think that is the be all and end all of sex.
“Little do they know… Our intimacy benefits from my disability and our intimacy is not just me enjoying it.
“It doesn’t look like what you see in the movies but I can totally do it.”

Shane continued to say he is often the initiator and explained how communication is key to their sexual exploits.
“When we are in bed together I can ask her ‘will you roll me towards you’ or ‘can you move my arm so I can reach your neck or cheek.'”
Hannah added: “In general Shane uses his voice in ways that other people might just physically do something.”

Hannah believes she “knows his body and preferences”, and he knows hers. The couple has previously spoken about how things “down there” work as they should.
Shane explained: “My head is not proportional to the size of my body… and one other part of me is not quite proportional. I’ll let you assume what it is. It’s not my toes.”
