It’s not just about you anymore.
All of us have probably attempted to play Cupid and set our friends up for potential romances at some point in our lives.
Well, Tinder has just made that process so much easier.
The mega-popular dating app is currently testing a new feature that allows Tinder users to share potential matches with their friends via the ‘share’ button, which does not have the meaning that some more adventurous Tinder users may think.
The new function, which will be only rolled out a small group of Tinder users, allows users to simply share the profile, via text, of someone they think might be a potential match for their friends, who will have 72 hours or five clicks to respond to the suggestion.
According to the Tinder website, if you swipe on a profile that has been shared with you, your profile may appear in their recommendations – as long as you meet your potential match’s preferences.
The feature will be tested in various markets and may differ in appearance and functionality depending on location.
Tinder users can also opt out of having a shareable profile by visiting Discovery Settings.
Of course, the danger is that many Tinder users will simply use the new feature to annoy their friends by sending them profiles they know full well their mates will have no intention of matching with.
If it’s used as Tinder intends, however, they could be onto a winner.
