We already knew that McDonald’s has played around with its menu a few times since opening in 1955, but this might come a s a surprise.
There was once a time when the chain only offered one size for its menu items. Now though, it’s all changed.
Today’s ‘small’ French fries portions are bigger than the standard 1955 size – and customers can even get themselves a container that more than doubles the original offering.
But it’s the drinks that have seen the most dramatic change. Back in the day, a carbonated drink would only be served in one standard sized cup – just shy of 200ml. Nowadays, it’s possible to more than quadruple this, with customers able to purchase cups that hold in excess of 850ml.
This video from BuzzFeed really highlights how drastic the changed have been.
