“Remember it doesn’t matter where you start it’s where you end up.”
Rapper Bugzy Malone has donated sacks full of Christmas presents to ‘underprivileged’ children.
Real name Aaron Davis, the Manchester-born artist said he wanted to ‘make a difference’ to children and families from disadvantaged backgrounds.
In the past, he has spoken about his own childhood struggles with poverty, growing up in the working class Manchester neighbourhood of Crumpsall.
Malone believes these experiences persuaded him to give something back to the community.

Writing beneath a post on Instagram, Bugzy Malone wrote:
“Me and my team at @_b.malone_ have bought 50 underprivileged children a sack full of presents each.”
The Manchester-born rapper says he was motivated by his personal experience of Christmas as a child.
“The 0161 made a man out of me and Christmas was never a good time for me or my family so hopefully these presents make a difference to the families that are going to receive them.
“We have worked closely along side my accountant @paulckarcz and social workers to make sure we knew as much about each individual kid as possible to get them the presents they want and deserve.”
Malone ended his post with words of encouragement for those who are struggling at this time of year.
“To the children that I have bought these gifts for if you ever see this, enjoy Christmas day as much as possible and just know things always get better in life. Remember it doesn’t matter where you start it’s where you end up.”
Boxing was integral in helping Bugzy Malone cope with life’s early struggles. He told the London Evening Standard:
“I took up boxing when I needed something to ground me a bit. It taught me discipline.
“This whole thing I was involved in, this culture, revolved around violence and anger. Boxing was a way of participating in that but in a controlled environment, where you don’t get in trouble afterwards.
“I don’t think it was anger in me. I was just frustrated with my life and where it was up to. I needed that outlet to calm me down and tame me.”
