Last month, it emerged that Dolly Parton had part-funded research into the development of Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine.
For most people, that would be enough of a heroic deed for one year. But not Dolly.
It has now been reported that she saved her 9-year-old co-star from being hit by a car on while filming her latest movie.
Dolly Parton reportedly pulled Talia Hill out of the way of an on-coming vehicle on the set of her latest film, Christmas on the Square.
“We were on set, and I was at the hot chocolate station, and they said ‘Go back to your beginning positions,'” Hill explained in an interview with Inside Edition.
“So, there is a vehicle moving, and I was walking, and somebody grabbed me and pulled me back.”
“And I looked up, and it was Dolly Parton.”
Dolly then apparently quipped “Well, I am an angel, you know” – Dolly plays an angel in the film.
“I was in shock, she hugged me and shook me and said, ‘I saved your life!'” Hill continued. “And my mom’s going, ‘Yes, you did, Dolly Parton. Yes, you did!'”
Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square arrived on Netflix at the end of November. In it, Dolly plays an angel who visits a self-centred rich woman who plans to sell off a small town without consulting the residents who live there.
It is as cheesy and Christmassy as you would expect. In a good way, obviously.
In November it was revealed that Parton partially-funded the for research for Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine.
The vaccine is said to be almost 95 percent effective at combatting the virus.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is a research facility in Nashville, Tennessee, close to where Parton was brought up.
She was announced as a donor to the Vanderbilt facility in April this year, in honour of a friend who worked there as a surgeon.
