It’s a ‘rap’ for Suge Knight as he’s sentenced to 28 years in prison

It looks like it’s a wrap for Suge Knight

In the last hour Suge Knight has been sentenced to 28 years in prison for the 2015 hit-and-run death of a man near the set of the movie Straight Outta Compton.

Pleading no contest last month just days before his trail was set to begin, he faced one count for murder and another count for attempted murder after he ran over Terry Carter (the deceased) and Cle “Bone” Sloan in January of 2015 at Tam’s Burgers in Compton, California, around the corner from where the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton was being filmed.

Sentenced today to 28 years in prison for killing Carter and injuring Sloan by running them over with his truck, Marion “Suge” Knight had to face Carter’s family, who read statements to the court, slamming Suge for killing their father/husband/brother. At one point, Carter’s daughter referred to Suge Knight as “a piece of shit.”

Surveillance video from the incident showed the two men confront Suge in his car when he backed up his vehicle, striking one of the men. He then accelerated forward, hitting the man again but then running over Carter in the process.

Two other criminal cases that Suge was facing were dismissed at sentencing.

In other news, a new interview that hears Suge speaking from behind bars, hears the Death Row Records founder say that Dr. Dre paid to have him killed on a couple of occasions, which led to him killing Carter in self defence.

In the interview, Suge claimed:

“They also got the paper trail with all the checks and proof of when they talked to the witnesses saying that Dre came to them first and asked the two guys how much it cost to get rid of me. And they said, ‘What you mean by get rid of?’ And he said, ‘Kill him.’ That’s when they start coming up with prices.”

Suge alleges that this is all a “murder-for-hire case.”
