Liam Gallagher has never sounded better than in this live string-backed studio video

Singing 'For What It's Worth', it's clear that Liam is in the form of his life

Liam Gallagher’s life has been a journey.

Thrust into the spotlight while he was essentially still a teenager, Liam has spent almost his entire adult life singing, as well as partaking in some other extra-curricular activities. When the first Oasis singles were released, Liam’s voice cut through the competition like a chainsaw.

On Definitely Maybe and (What’s The Story) Morning Glory, Liam’s voice was impeccable – razor sharp and bursting with confidence. He was the greatest singer alive and he knew it. Then after Be Here Now, he went into decline. The drugs and the booze surely took their toll, as he groaned and croaked through Oasis’ lesser albums.

His voice hit perhaps the lowest low during their headline set at Glastonbury in 2004. At it’s best, it’s bad. At it’s worst, it’s old man Steptoe shouting at the moon. Oasis broke up, then came Beady Eye, who were alright, I guess. Liam’s voice was in pretty good nick, but the songs weren’t as sharp.

That came and went, Liam went into the wilderness for a few years, battling boredom and divorce lawyers. Now he’s back, and as everyone knows, he’s better than ever. That’s exemplified on this new live performance of ‘For What It’s Worth’, recorded at Air studios with a live string section. It sounds magnificent.

Liam’s back on form. As you were, LG x
