Lil Uzi Vert had fans grabbing for his forehead during a recent live show, and for good reason – he has a £17.4million pink diamond implanted on his face.

The rapper told TMZ that fans managed to dislodge it from his face during a festival appearance. “I had a show at rolling loud and I jumped in the crowd and they kind of ripped it out,” the 26-year-old said.

But opportunistic fans didn’t cash out – “I still have the diamond, so I feel good,” the rapper told the publication.

Lil Uzi had the diamond implanted into his head in February, and following the procedure, fans wondered it it was safe.

Jewellers who fitted the diamond told Rolling Stone the implant is “as safe as any other piercing.”

“As long as you maintain it well and have good upkeep, it’s perfectly fine,” they said.

“We made sure that prior to getting anything done that Uzi brought someone in to consult on everything. We didn’t just do this randomly.”

“We engineered a specific mounting that clips and locks in place. There’s a whole mechanism involved, it’s not a standard piercing. A specific piece and part were both engineered with millimeter precision to get this put on him.”

When the rapper had the implant, he shared an image on social media of his forehead gushing with blood, and warned “if I don’t get it took out the right way I could die.”

He added a laughing face emoji and repeated: “no seriously.”
