Police have advised everyone to avoid the area around the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
Police in Las Vegas have confirmed that they are investigating reports of an active shooter near or around the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on the city’s famous strip.
A spokesperson for the University Medical Center in Las Vegas told Associated Press that “several” people had been admitted with gunshot wounds.

A number of artists performing at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in the vicinity of the casino reported hearing gunshots on Sunday night, close to where the reported shooting is believed to have taken place.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department have advised that part of Las Vegas Boulevard has been closed and urged people to avoid the south end of the Las Vegas strip, where the casino is located.
Please avoid heading to the south end of the Strip. Las Vegas Blvd is shut down at Tropicana, southbound past Russell Rd at this time.
