“Richard is the real victim here.”
Residents in Hither Green, south east London have torn down tributes to a burglar stabbed by a pensioner in his home last week.
Henry Vincent, 37, received a fatal stab wound during the break-in of 78-year-old Richard Osborn-Brooks’ home on Wednesday.
Following the incident a number of flowers were laid outside Osborn-Brooks’ home, however a woman with scissors was seen cutting floral tributes from lampposts, fences and street signs yesterday night.
More than 20 bunches of flowers and messages were left to career criminal Vincent.
Meanwhile it emerged that Osborn-Brooks and his wife are unable to return to their home – being protected by police due to fears over the couple’s safety.
One of 78-year-old Richard’s neighbours told The Sun: “If it was safe for him to return, that shrine would turn his stomach.
“These people should accept Vincent was the architect of his own death, yet they come here and rub it in Richard’s face. They have no shame. Richard is the real victim here.”
Yesterday the police released an image of the alleged accomplice who broke into a home with Vincent.
It is believed that Billy Jeeves, 28, was with Henry Vincent when he broke into Richard Osborn-Brooks’ home.

Although the pensioner was initially arrest on suspicion on murder, after speaking with the Crown Prosecution Service, officers said last week that they had informed Vincent’s family that no charges will be brought against the pensioner.
Detective chief inspector Simon Harding said: “This is a tragic case for all of those involved.
“As expected with any incident where someone has lost their life, my officers carried out a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the death.
“We have approached the CPS for early investigative advice, as required under the guidance. We have received and considered that advice, and, at present – on the evidence available – we will not seek a charging decision.
“Therefore, no further action will be taken against the man.”
