Boris Johnson nearly drowned in Scotland
Holiday disasters are not uncommon, especially here in the UK when the weather can turn bad in an instant. This year, Prime Minister Boris Johnson will not be vacationing in Scotland after a close call last year.
The prime minister’s visit to a cottage in remote Applecross on the northwest coast was cut short last August after the location was revealed. However, it has now come to light that the holiday was ruined for another reason.
“He nearly drowned,” a government source told The Times.
“He got swept away and found himself going further and further out.”

Reports vary between canoeing and paddle-boarding, but his security was worried enough to consider calling a rescue helicopter. However, the PM was able to swim close enough to shore that his security team swam out to rescue him.
“It could have been a catastrophe,” the source told the newspaper.
The same trip was dramatically cut short when the Daily Mail shared images of the secret location. Social media users quickly identified the location, and the PM feared they would be “mobbed by Scottish nationalists.”
The prime minister is said to have told friends he would go back for a holiday “over my dead body.
In other Boris news, Downing Street confirmed that the PM will not self-isolate after a member of his staff tested positive for Covid.
After being approached by the Guardian, a No 10 spokesperson said: “The prime minister regularly visits communities across the UK and all aspects of visits are carried out in line with covid guidance.
“The prime minister has not come into close contact with anyone who has tested positive.”
