The man lost consciousness on a flight to Paphos
A British passenger has reportedly been found dead by his wife on board a flight from the UK to Cyprus.
The 63-year-old tourist lost consciousness on a flight to Paphos on the southwest coast of the Mediterranean island on Wednesday, MailOnline reported.
The man’s wife was said to have alerted the flight crew when her husband never regained consciousness.
The man was taken to Paphos General Hospital by ambulance after the plane landed around 11pm local time, but doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
A police source told the Cyprus Mail: “We can confirm that he passed away during the flight but at the moment there’s not much more we can say.”
The publication further reported that therethat they are not considering anything suspicious or any criminal activity being involved.
At the same airport last night, a 73-year-old woman travelling from Glasgow was seriously injured after falling from the plane’s ladder upon arrival. She was rushed to hospital in a serious condition with a head injury, broken collarbone and broken ribs.
The woman is expected to survive the ordeal.
The man’s death follows the case of a mum-of-two who died in front of her children and husband on a flight from China to the UK.
Helen Rhodes passed away in her sleep during the journey from Hong Kong on August 5. She had lived in the city for 15 years and was hoping to return to the UK for the first time since before the covid pandemic.
