‘Cancelled’ comedian Louis C.K. still performing in Kyiv despite Russian invasion

A war isn’t going to stop Louis C.K. from performing

Supposedly ‘cancelled’ comedian Louis C.K. is still set to perform in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv this weekend, despite the Russian invasion of the country still ongoing.

On Tuesday, a Twitter user posted that the comedian’s show in Kyiv has “not been cancelled”, with a screenshot of a statement for those with tickets.

It reads: “Dear attendants, Louis C.K. performance will take place as planned on February 25 and 26, 2022.

“Tickets for Louis C.K. show purchased earlier remain valid for new dates and do not require an exchange.”

The New York Post reports that representatives for C.K. have yet to publicly confirm the status of his upcoming shows in the Ukrainian capital amid the Russian invasion of the country.

Anyone looking for a bit of comic relief from the invasion in Kyiv can still pick up tickets to the gig at a 30 per cent discount, with balcony seats going for “roughly $11.70 USD.”

The gig has a weird requirement though – those attending will have to “put their phones in lockboxes” so that they do not “leak any sensitive material.”

C.K. has attracted controversy ever since he was hit with a string of sexual misconduct allegations against him in 2017.

Whilst some would have you believe that he has become a victim of so-called ‘cancel culture’ it seems that he’s still very much active, even receiving a nomination for the 2022 Grammy Awards.
