Death row killer asks chilling question before being executed

Okay this has officially creeped us out

Reuben Pinder

It sends chills down your spine.

A death row inmate who shot his own two daughters dead uttered the most chilling final words before his last breath last night as he was executed.

The murderer, John Battaglia, killed his two daughters while their mother listened down the phone in 2001. He had broken his probation and there was a warrant out for his arrest. While his daughter was speaking to his estranged wife on the phone, she asked “Mommy, why do you want Daddy to have to go to jail?”.

The next thing the mother heard was “no, Daddy, please don’t do it” at which point she screamed for her daughters to run but Battaglia shot them both dead.

Despite pleas of insanity from Battaglia’s lawyers, who made the case that he was not competent for execution, he was put to death by lethal injection last night in Huntsville Unit Prison in Texas.

Sitting in the chair, he gave the nod to he executioner, telling him to “go ahead”. Battaglia then closed his eyes, opened them again and said the chilling words:

“Am I still alive?”

He then sighed and said “I feel it.”

It took twenty minutes to complete the execution, the same amount of time it took the jury to convict him.
