The incident occurred outside the of Trump National Golf Club in Virginia

A supporter of American president Donald Trump has been charged with assault after he was filmed on camera forcefully breathing on protesters while walking around without a mask.

Raymond Deskins, 61, was charged with a misdemeanour for simple assault over the weekend after  a viral video captured him breathing on two women who were protesting against the US president.

Standing outside of the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia on Saturday, Deskins can be seen wearing a Donald Trump t-shirt with what appears to be a Trump flotation device around his waist as he walks along the footpath.

He then becomes involved in an altercation with two protesters, one of whom was filming on her phone. The women can be heard asking him to step away from them due to the fact that he wasn’t wearing a mask, to which he replies “I’m not in anyone’s way”.

He then visibly exhales on them and says “I breathed on you”.

Kathy Beynette, one of the protesters, revealed that she and her family had been forced to cancel their holidays plans due to the fact that Deskins had breathed on them.

“We’re both senior citizens both close to 70 years old, which puts us in a high-risk category,” she told NBC News4. “Because of this guy, my family has had to cancel the small Thanksgiving that we had planned with just a few people because I said I might’ve been exposed.”
